Philosophy
I want you to find the best mortgage.
(Even if it’s with my competition.)
I know, this sounds like a bunch of crap, but it’s true. I love being “the mortgage guy” and getting to talk about finances, real estate and mortgages all day long. Shopping for a mortgage is stressful because it is by far your largest expense, involves the roof over your head, and requires you to work with commission-based salespeople who have an information advantage. If I can give you peace of mind and help you find the right mortgage, it’s only logical that you will tell your friends, co-workers & family to call me for their mortgage needs as well.

Personal
I was born in Denver Colorado, adopted and grew up on a cattle ranch in western Nebraska. I had the best parents in the entire world, and Mom & Dad instilled me with the importance of honesty and hard work. They were rewarded by finishing in the top five of my high school class of 15!
I attended undergraduate school at Eastern New Mexico University because they let this skinny kid walk on and play football. While I didn’t end up in the NFL, I did graduate in three years with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. I later received my MS in Finance from the University of Colorado in 1996.
While I was working as a sales rep for a wine distributor in Denver Colorado (looking for a position in finance), I got a rather indirect invitation to the mortgage business. To make a long story short, I refinanced my home and the loan officer snuck in a 5-year pre-payment penalty to earn a bigger commission. I was furious that this could happen, let alone embarrassed it could happen someone with a Master’s degree in Finance! Though this was a bitter pill to swallow, it introduced me to a field I really enjoy working in. After working for several small mortgage companies, I owned my own firm from 2003 through 2008. and now I am a Vice President of Mortgage Lending for my current company.
After a four year long distance relationship, I proposed to my now wife Frances and we moved to Boston a month after 9/11, and she is currently the morning anchor of Channel 11 WPIX morning show in New York. In 2010 we were blessed with our wonderful daughter Tessa. When I’m not helping people with their finances, you can probably find me reading a good book, working on a home improvement project, struggling to play the piano or hit a golf ball!
